As a budding writer, I draw my inspiration from many places, creators that are personal heroes of mine, and incidents throughout history, that speak to me personally. Some quite ugly, and some less. Even some that take those ugly things and turn them around to beauty and heroism.
This particular story is one of those.
I love both Masashi Kishimoto, creator of Naruto, and Joe Kubert, who developed further DC's classic WW II comic, Sgt. Rock and The Losers. Though these genres seem so very different, perhaps they're more similar than one might initially think. Both Rock and Naruto come from an unloved, tough as nails childhood. Both have to fight their way to glory.
So after wasting a bit of time writing fan fictions like most every budding writer does. I thought why not create my own original universe, and characters.
I drew on the likes of John Steinbeck, Jack Kerouac, my own families' railroading experiences , and their being residents of California's Great Central Valley for no less than five consecutive generations, as well as so much more.
Long story short, I've set out to create a war manga and have managed to realize such through my longtime friend, associate, and teacher Mr. Jon Guerzon.
Please enjoy!
